Team Deceuninck – Quick Step wint het totaalklassement van de Hammer Series Limburg 2019

Team Jumbo-Visma is tweede geworden in Hammer Series Limburg. In de Hammer Chase wisten de geelzwarte renners het voor hen gestarte Bora-Hansgrohe in te halen en na een spannende ontknoping achter zich te houden. Deceunick-QuickStep pakte de eindoverwinning van de Limburgse editie.

Met de tweede plek en de overwinning in Hammer Series Stavanger, twee weken geleden, blijft Team Jumbo-Visma aan de leiding van de Hammer Series. In oktober wordt in Hongkong de finale gereden.

“Het was spannend”, concludeerde een opgeluchte Nico Verhoeven. De ploegleider van Team Jumbo-Visma zag hoe zijn formatie een kat-en-muisspel uitvocht met Bora-Hansgrohe. “Uiteindelijk hebben we wat ingehouden om hun in de sprint achter ons te kunnen houden. We bleven goed aan de kant zodat ze vol door de wind moesten om ons weer voorbij te rijden. Daardoor kwam ook Team Sunweb weer terug. Op het eind viel voor ons alles op z’n plaats. We hielden Bora af, terwijl Sunweb vierde bleef. Dat is gunstig voor ons voor het klassement na twee series.”

Fabio Jacobsen laat weer eens zien dat hij kan sprinten als de beste. Dus is hij blij. Niet zozeer omdat hij wint maar omdat zijn ploeg Team Deceuninck – Quick Step voor de tweede dag op rij de victorie kraait staan de renners van de blauw-witte formatie van Patrick Lefevere bovenaan in het klassement

Team Sunweb Keep Challenging Center

 
 
 
Vandaag is het Team Sunweb Keep Challenging Center in Sittard officieel onthuld. Het centrum combineert een woonomgeving met een hoogwaardig ondersteunend netwerk om zowel de ontwikkeling van de wielrenner als de samenwerking te optimaliseren. Omdat de meerderheid van de renners die op de campus wonen en nu begin twintig zijn, deelt Team Sunweb vandaag hun ambitie om te streven naar de eerste renner die via het Keep Challenging Center, naar de Tour de France 2025 te brengen”.

Edvald Boasson Hagen wordt op het moment dat hij de handen in de lucht steekt bijna door een windvlaag verrast. De Noor van Team Dimension Data wint wel de derde etappe van de Tour of Norway. Joris Nieuwenhuis blijft ook nog uit de greep van het peloton en wordt tweede. Alexander Kristoff finisht net voor Cees Bol als derde.

Cees Bol (Team Sunweb) moet de gele leiderstrui. afstaan aan de winnaar van vandaag: Edvald Boasson Hagen.

Alvaro Jose Hodeg (zeg maar Hodge) wint de tweede etappe van de Tour of Norway. De Colombiaan van Team Deceuninck-Quick Step is in de aankomstplaats Mandal een half wieltje eerder aan de finish dan de Noor Kristoffer Halvorsen (Team Sky). Edvald Boasson Hagen (Team Dimension Data) finisht als derde.
 
 
Cees Bol (Team Sunweb) rijdt ook morgen in de gele leiderstrui.
 
 
Taco van der Hoorn heeft de tweede etappe van de Ronde van Noorwegen medegekleurd. De coureur uit Wageningen rijdt met zes anderen lang in de aanval, maar wordt op drie kilometer van het einde ingerekend. Van der Hoorn plaatst zich nog in de sprint en finisht als zestiende. Door het sprokkelen van de nodige bonificatieseconden klimt Van der Hoorn naar de achtste plaats in het klassement.

Ronde van Noorwegen, eerste etappe


Cees Bol (Team Sunweb) is in Egersund veruit de snelste in de openingsetappe van de Tour of Norway.

Omdat het laatste lokale circuit grotendeels vlak was, leek het erop dat het een dag zou worden voor de sprinters.

Vier renners ontsnapten vroeg in de etappe en behaalden snel een voorsprong van meer dan zeven minuten op het peloton. Maar de vluchters werden uiteindelijk in de laatste vijf kilometer van de etappe ingelopen.


Cees Bol sprintte met “tegenwind” naar de etappeoverwinning.

De renners van Team Jumbo-Visma hebben geen rol van betekenis kunnen spelen in de eerste etappe van de Ronde van Noorwegen. In de openingsetappe van Stavanger naar Egersund probeerde Taco van der Hoorn zich in de massasprint goed te plaatsen, maar een topklassering bleef uit.

De finale werd ontsierd door een massale valpartij met voor Team Jumbo-Visma Jonas Vingegaard. De Deen reed de etappe wel uit, maar heeft veel last van zijn sleutelbeen. Verder onderzoek moet uitwijzen of de Deen morgen nog van start kan gaan.

“Voor ons was het geen beste dag”, aldus ploegleider Frans Maassen. “Jonas heeft na zijn valpartij veel last van zijn sleutelbeen. Verder onderzoek moet uitsluitsel geven hoe erg de blessures zijn. Danny had een mindere dag waardoor hij niet aan sprinten toekwam.
